A blend of PERDOMO’s finest and most cherished 12-year aged wrappers, binders, and fillers, these rare tobaccos have been carefully bale-aged for ten years and then bourbon barrel-aged for an additional two years. Using a proprietary double-aging process, each leaf used to make the PERDOMO Double Aged 12-Year Vintage is aged in charred, white oak bourbon barrels. This unique double-aging process ensures the perfect color, texture, aroma, and flavor in these tobaccos, making each cigar a well-balanced and full-flavored smoking experience.

Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Connecticut Epicure 5 pack
The tobaccos used to make the Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Gordo
Extra undergo a unique aging process that involves a decade of
bale aging and two years of fermentation in bourbon barrels. This
Toro’s Ecuadorian Shade Connecticut wrapper is draped over a
Nicaraguan binder and filler. Medium-bodied, the Perdomo Double
Aged 12 Year is a wonderfully smooth smoke with a creamy
complexity and subtle hints of caramel and cedar.
The Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper of the Perdomo Double
Aged 12 Year Vintage Connecticut Robusto has a golden brown color
to it. The wrapper was more silky, than oily. While there are
some visible wrapper seams and visible veins, I considered the
cigar itself to be on the smooth side. The band is a large one
with a lot going on it.
From the house of Perdomo comes a new release for 2014, the
Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage. This new blend release will
be available in three wrapper blends, a Connecticut Shade, a Sun
Grown, and a Maduro version with Nicaraguan fillers. The cigars
are made using tobaccos from a 2001 / 2002 vintage crop, then
aged in bales for 10 years followed by an additional 2 years aged
in wood barrels. The result is a medium bodied smoke that smooth
and well balanced in all wrapper styles, the Sun Grown and Maduro
wrappers add a bit more spice or earthiness, while the
Connecticut delivers creamy flavors. The cigars are available in
4 sizes in boxes of 24 cigars. The cigars will be made in limited
quantities and will only be released to 250 of the finest
tobacconists world-wide.
I sure as hell can’t remember, but Nick Perdomo was in the midst
of cultivating premium tobaccos that wouldn’t be seen again for
twelve whole years. After over a decade of waiting, we finally
welcome Perdomo Double Aged 12-Year Vintage. It’s a three part
release that’s sure to knock your impatient socks off. Nick has
outdone himself this time around, shelling out three separate
blends that each lay claim to 12-year-old, exquisitely fermented
tobacco leaves. Dressed in Connecticut, Sun Grown, and Maduro
wrappers, Double Aged 12-Year Vintage has a selection for every
cigar lover out there. All of the tobaccos in each blend –
wrapper, binder, and filler – go through an extensive “double
aging” process. They are bale-aged for ten years before moving on
to barrel-aging in charred, white oak bourbon barrels for the
next two years, resulting in a refined product that’s brimming
with flavor. This process ensures that the crop from 2001 has
impeccable color, texture, aroma, and flavor.
If you’re looking for really enjoyable medium-bodied smokes with
rich, buttery, and delicious smooth flavors of dark chocolate,
caramel, sweet spice, and hints of bourbon, these are the ones
for you. The Perdomo Double Aged 12 Year Vintage Maduro Robusto
cigars are uniquely aged for 12 years in both bales and oak
bourbon barrels. Each puff proves why the Perdomo family is
famous for creating some of the best legendary cigars in the
game.
