La Herencia Cubana means "Cuban heritage"....a fitting name indeed. From time to time I stumble upon a fantastic new cigar and find it hard to contain my excitement. I'm genuinely excited about it. See, I'm a cigar lunatic who burns through a half dozen cigars on light days, so I get very excited when a special cigar like La Herencia Cubana arrives on the scene. This is a legit, thoroughly delectable cigar. The wrapper is a dark, toothy, leathery-looking Ecuadorian Sumatra leaf that's responsible for delivering much of the intense, rich flavory goodness. The fillers are a well-balanced collection of long-leaf tobaccos from three of the major growing regions in Nicaragua: Jalapa, Condega, and Esteli.
The flavor is medium to full in body and begins with a burst of black pepper, a feisty opening that's tamed by a rich yet smooth core of tobacco flavors and underlying creaminess that's present right on through to the cigar's conclusion. Its hearty bouquet is coupled with toasty, woodsy notes and a long-lasting, peppery aftertaste. Fans of unique and 'boutique' blends, I urge you to take me up on this one. As you know, we've got a generous return policy - so you've got nothing to lose and a whole lot to gain - especially for just over 3 bucks per cigar here at CI.
Note: La Herencia Cubana recently underwent a packaging update. We currently have a mix of old and new packaging, so you may receive either. The cigars are the same, just the bands & boxes have changed.

The La Herencia Cubana cigars come from a deep and rich
background full from Nicaragua focusing on producing cigars from
three of the top growing regions – Condega, Jalapa and Esteli.
This history and experience has aided them with producing some of
the finest cigars available!
The CORE line comes to us using a mixture of tobaccos meant to
show some of the benefits of boutique cigars on the market. A
Sun-Grown Ligero Habano Ecuadorian wrapper, Esteli grown Habano
Viso as the binder and a mixture of Esteli Ligero, Jamastran
Ligero, Pennsylvania Broadleaf and Nicaraguan Ometepe Ligero this
cigar produces smooth and flavorful notes of oak, earth, black
pepper, leather and that rustic tobacco flavor.
La Herencia Cubana CORE Robusto is produced utilizing a unique,
full-bodied and complex filler blend brimming with ligero
tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras mixed with broadleaf from
Pennsylvania, which is then completed using a dark, smooth and
aged Ecuadorian Habano ligero wrapper brimming with oils. The
result is a noble richness with a hearty, rustic core of genuine
tobacco flavors supported by a cast of earth, leather, cream, and
black pepper notes which pass smoothly through the nose. The
satisfying elevation of strength during the burn will provide a
warm aroma full of rich oak and toast until it delivers a bold,
earthy finish with ample core.
La Herencia Cubana CORE Toro is among the first cigars blended by
AJ Fernandez, long before he became the industry icon he is
today. It was introduced as a value cigar, offering the
incredible mixture of flavor, balance, and body that Fernandez
has since come to be known for. Made in Nicaragua, La Herencia
Cubana CORE consists of a hearty filler blend including
Nicaraguan ligero leaves from Esteli and Ometepe, Honduran
Jamastran ligero, and last but certainly not least, Pennsylvania
Broadleaf. A Nicaraguan viso binder holds the package together,
and the finishing touch is a dark Habano Ecuador sun grown ligero
wrapper. Not for the faint of heart, La Herencia Cubana CORE is a
true powerhouse of a cigar.

La Herencia Cubana Robusto cigars are creamy medium-bodied
delights that will leave you with both an appreciation of the
finer things in life and plenty of cash in your pocket. That’s
because creator AJ Fernandez is perhaps the best of the best at
crafting seriously good smokes at a price anyone can afford.
Witness his Man O’ War and Diesel brands, full-throttle stogies
which sit firmly atop many an aficionado’s go-to list. Dialing
back on the strength but not his affinity for flavor, Fernandez
developed La Herencia Cubana Robusto by blending a choice
selection of longleaf Nicaraguan tobaccos from Esteli, Jalapa,
and Condega perfectly matched to the silky Ecuadorian Sumatra
wrapper which coats each stick.
